Thousands of Vermonters send a clear message: Repower Vermont, Replace Vermont Yankee

VPIRG unveiled a photo mosaic comprised of thousands of Vermonters asking the state legislature to “Repower Vermont and Replace Vermont Yankee”.  VPIRG met Vermonters face to face, one by one and collected the photo petitions from citizens eager to see Vermont Yankee closed on time and replaced with local, renewable power.
Vermonters are ready for a new, cleaner energy future.  VPIRG outreach staff hit the streets, on foot and on bicycle, to speak to over 31,000 Vermont households, one on one, about the dangers of Vermont Yankee and the alternatives to the reactor.  The photo petitions they collected show Vermonters holding a sign that reads “Repower VT, Replace VY”.  The sign also depicts a wind turbine, the sun and a cow to represent some of the alternative renewable energy solutions
