Speaker of the House Shap Smith and Representative Peter Peltz hosted our Morrisville health care forum on December 13th, hailed by many who attended as a huge success. An expert panel comprised of BISHCA Commissioner Steve Kimbell, incoming Chair of the House Health Care Committee Mike Fisher and Chair of the Senate Committee on Appropriations Jane Kitchel were on hand to answer attendees questions about health care reform in Vermont.
The result was a highly informative and engaging night, as the impacts, vision and timeline of Vermont’s health care reform efforts were the topic of discussion. When asked about the success of the event, VPIRG Health Care Advocate Cassandra Gekas said “Vermonters know the system is broken. They are excited about where the state is headed and want to know that they have a say in the decision-making process. That’s why it was so great to see a packed room in Morrisville last night. People were receptive, engaged, and ready to help get the job done.” To read more about health care reform in Vermont, and how you can make an impact, click here.
