Real health care Reform, NOW!

Congressman Welch was joined by VPIRG, Vermont Tent Company, Vermont NEA, Vermont AFL-CIO, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, the Vermont Health Care Ombudsman, TrueMajority, and Vermont Teamsters supporting strong federal health care legisation this year.
While there is debate in Washington over whether the reform measure should include a public health insurance option, the Vermont organizations will leave no doubt as to their stance on the issue.
“Vermonters and citizens across the country want greater choice in health care,” said Burns. “A public care option is one choice that is critical for this reform to have real meaning.”
While we are in many ways a diverse group of organizations and citizens, we are united today in calling for real and lasting reform of our health care system so that all Americans can get the high quality health care they need at a price they can afford.
