What’s better than saving energy with energy-efficienct compact florecent lightbulbs? Getting, new, free CFLs for trading in your old ones.
Ace, True Value and Do-it-Best hardware stores have teamed up with the State and Efficiency Vermont to offer free recycling for Vermont residents who bring up to six compact fluorescent (CFLs) and other mercury-containing bulbs per visit to participating stores.
On January 25, two hardware stores in Barre and South Burlington are highlighting this free recycling program by giving away 100 CFLs per store to anyone who brings in mercury-lamps for recycling. The bulbs were generously donated by Efficiency Vermont.
