VPIRG and Allies Send Vote-By-Mail Petition to Governor; SOS

Last week VPIRG and a coalition of allies sent the following letter to Governor Phil Scott and Secretary of State Jim Condos calling on them to immediately institute a vote-by-mail system in Vermont. The letter was accompanied by a petition signed by just over 1,180 Vermonters in support of this policy.

This comes at a critical time, as necessary preparations must be made in order for a statewide vote-by-mail system to be possible for the state’s August primaries.

Now, we’re asking Vermonters to step up join this effort by pledging to vote in 2020, and to do so safely by mail if they possibly can. This will protect voters, their fellow Vermonters, and our democracy.
