Over 100 Vermont small businesses joined an online discussion to learn what health reform means for Vermont’s small businesses.
Co-sponsored by the Small Business Majority, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) and the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG), Tuesday’s webinar featured presentations from members of the Green Mountain Care Board, prominent Vermont small business owners and representatives from the State of Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities & Health Care Administration (BISCHA).
The 85-minute session delved into multiple aspects of health reform, but co-sponsors were clear from the outset about the most important take-away point: the virtual health insurance exchange, scheduled to go live in 2014, will pave the way toward quality, affordable coverage for all Vermonters—and the state’s small businesses have much to gain in the coming months and years.
