Health Care 3.0: What’s next

Thanks to everyone who was able to make our webniar. It was a huge success and be on the look out for more in the future!

On Wednesday January 19th Vermont’s expert consulting team, led by Harvard economist Dr. William Hsiao, will release three design options for the future of health care in our state.  On January 20th VPIRG is teaming up with Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, Families USA and Governor Shumlin’s top health care advisor to give you the inside scoop on those plans.

VPIRG and VBSR are committed to making sure that new system works for you.

This webinar is for you if:

  • You are concerned about the rising costs of health care for you and your family
  • You are a small business owner struggling to find an affordable health care plan for your employees
  • You a medical professional who wants to know how reform will impact the scope of your practice
  • You are self-employed and seeking reliable health care coverage that will stick with you throughout fluctuations in income and number of contracts

The timing is critical.  Each of the team’s three plans will be comprehensive and should put us on the path to a universal system that is high quality, affordable and financially sustainable in the long term, but as you know, the devil is in the details.  Dr. Hsiao’s team is looking to Vermonters for feedback before the plans are released to the legislature in February.  We want to make sure your voice is heard.

Special guests include Anya Rader Wallack, Governor-elect Shumlin’s chief health care advisor and Dr. Michael Scollins, VPIRG Trustee and retired family practice physician.

But it’s more than just a webinar. We’ll be having a real discussion about what’s in the plans and will take plenty of time to answer questions and hear your thoughts. Your feedback in this process is key. Not only will we help deliver your comments directly to Dr. Hsiao’s team but your input will help provide the foundation for our priorities and strategy during the 2011 legislative session.
