GMO Labeling Volunteers Needed

Have you seen what over 25,000 postcards look like?  I hadn’t before, and I don’t think our Vermont State Senators will have either – until August 15th!

That’s the date when we’ll be delivering the first wave of these messages to a set of legislative champs we hope will carry the GMO labeling bill to victory in the Senate this year.  That means we have two weeks to prepare these postcards for delivery – which is where your help comes in!

What:

In their journeys to every single town, city, and gore in Vermont, VPIRG summer canvassers have been building up an unbeatable groundswell of citizen messages to our Senators asking them to protect our right to know what’s in our food.  With tens of thousands of postcards to sort through in the next couple weeks, making an impact is as simple as making copies, sorting, and entering data.

Three hour volunteer shifts (listed below) each include a campaign overview, training, and free snacks!

When:

Thursday, August 8th: 2-5 pm or 5-8 pm
Tuesday, August 13th: 10 am -1 pm; 2-5 pm; 5-8 pm
Wednesday, August 14th: 10 am -1 pm; 2-5 pm; 5-8 pm

Where:

VPIRG Montpelier Office
141 Main Street, Suite 6
Montpelier, VT 05602
