Clean Energy Bill passes Senate Natural Resources

The Clean Energy Bill, H.468, just passed out of the Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee. If enacted, it would require Vermont utilities to provide Vermonters with 35% renewable energy by 2032, and guarantee that at least 100 MW of that energy would come from local, community scale resources through an expansion of Vermont’s groundbreaking Standard Offer program.

While this bill isn’t everything we had dreamed of, it’s a big step towards a Vermont built on clean, renewable energy and a positive legacy for our children and grandchildren. Please take a moment to thank Senators Ginny Lyons, Dick McCormack and Mark MacDonald for all their hard work on this bill by calling 802-828-2228 and leaving them a short message.

The bill now moves onto the Senate Finance Committee.
