On February 12, 2014, VPIRG joined parents with children, public health advocates, fire fighters, and legislators to support better measures to protect Vermonters, particularly kids, from unnecessary exposure to toxic chemicals in everyday products. At the event, called Toxic-Free Families Day, the rubber ducky was used as the perfect example of known toxic chemicals, like pthalates and BPA, popping up in even the most popular and seemingly-benign products.
Check out Fox 44/ABC 22’s great story about the issue of toxic chemicals in everyday products.
