Job Summary: VPIRG seeks a highly organized, creative communicator with great writing skills and an interest in growing our reach through social media and other modes of communication to meet Vermont’s public where they are. This is your opportunity to make an immediate impact on campaigns that protect and promote the health of Vermont’s people, environment, and locally based economy while building key skills for a successful career in the non-profit field.
You’ll work alongside our seasoned communications team, learning everything from crafting advocacy email campaigns to creating video explainers to designing print materials, and so much more. You will assist all our program staff in getting our message and stories heard.
Job Summary: Major elements of the position include:
- Communications & Engagement; Campaign & Advocacy Support
- Aid in writing and creating web posts, emails, videos, FAQs and other communications
- Manage email and social media calendars for the Democracy Vermont campaign & VPIRG’’s other program areas
- Implement communications plans in clear and compelling ways using all available media
- Participate in campaign creation & branding workshops
- Support earned media events
- Fundraising and Administration
- Participate in major donor campaigns
- Coordinate email fundraising campaigns
- Responsible for tracking data, time and benchmarks on a weekly basis.
Desired skills/skills you will learn: Copywriting, graphic design, photography and videography
Compensation: This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary of $43,888. VPIRG offers an excellent benefits package including employer-paid health insurance, long-term disability insurance, employer-matching IRA contributions or student loan repayment of up to 3% of salary, and four weeks of annual leave.
