Apply to be a VPIRG intern!
Vermonters and people around the world are already feeling the repercussions of the climate crisis, and we know it’s not going away anytime soon. But as the threat rises, so has momentum for action.
We must do everything we can to urge our leaders to act towards promoting a more climate-resilient, environmentally-sound state. We must energize and organize people to this end. We believe that we have a responsibility to take bold action on climate change to protect our local economies, our homes, and our future…if you agree, join the campaign and apply today to be a VPIRG intern!
We’re looking for dedicated and passionate college students to help us inform and mobilize Vermonters and students on some of the most pressing environmental issues of our time. Interns will do this by engaging in outreach, building grassroots support for policies, and participating in organizing major events across the state, virtually and in person.
As a VPIRG intern you will:
- Attend briefings and trainings to gain leadership and organizing skills
- Work directly with a VPIRG organizer
- Experience a crash course in grassroots organizing and advocacy
- Bolster your professional portfolio by gaining valuable skills for careers in non-profit, environmental and advocacy fields
This is an unpaid, 5-10 hour/week internship from October-December, but you may be eligible to earn academic credit for your work. There are also potential opportunities to continue working on this campaign during the winter and experience the workings of Vermont’s State House during the legislative session and in the summer with full-time, paid positions.
To apply, please send a brief description (200-300 words) of why you’re interested in this internship opportunity and a schedule with your weekly availability to Lily Seward, VPIRG’s Climate and Energy Fellow, at email@example.com
