This summer our canvass is working to build grassroots support for our campaign to modernize Vermont’s most successful recycling program: the Bottle Bill – and YOU can play a role in ensuring success by sharing about our efforts on your local Front Porch Forum.
To make things easy, we’ve pulled together some sample language (below) to get you started…
- Why you should support VPIRG today…
- I just made a gift to support VPIRG – and you should too!
- Please consider supporting VPIRG today
My name is [NAME] and I’m a member and supporter of VPIRG, the Vermont Public Interest Research Group
For nearly 50 years, VPIRG has advocated for the health and wellbeing of Vermont’s people, environment, and locally based economy by informing and mobilizing people across the state. You may know them best through their annual door-to-door summer canvass, which sends dozens of young people across the state to knock on doors and build grassroots support for key public interest issues.
I’ve been involved with VPIRG for [LENGTH OF TIME] because [WHY].
I’m proud to say I just made a gift to support VPIRG’s campaign to modernize Vermont’s Bottle Bill – our state’s most successful recycling law—and I hope you’ll consider doing the same.
You can learn more about the campaign (and chip in to support this important work!) at www.vpirg.org/2021-vpirg-summer-canvass/. Thank you!
If you run into any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our Membership Coordinator, Molly Feldman, at (802) 223-5221 ext. 14 or by email at email@example.com and she’ll be happy to help you out.
Thank you for helping support our people-powered public interest organization – we’re grateful for all that you do.
