VPIRG, Vermont’s largest environmental and consumer advocacy group, is looking for an individual with excellent money-management skills, a wickedly keen attention to detail, and the desire to be part of a fun and energetic bunch of activists. The Finance Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day data management of canvass contributions and facilitation of administrative logistics supporting VPIRG’s summer door canvass. In this role, you’ll coordinate efforts with a data & finance team, ensuring that donor contributions are properly handled. You will work with canvass staff to handle transportation logistics and liaise with vendors, communicating promptly and professionally. You will assist VPIRG staff in the diligent maintenance of the financial systems that support the execution of a successful summer campaign.
The position is based in VPIRG’s Burlington office starting full-time in May and working through August 16 or 23. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Summary: The Finance Administrator will contribute to VPIRG’s work by helping to enter, organize and maintain the proper financial and accounting procedures that drive our summer door canvass campaign and organization-building efforts.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collect and record canvass contributions for daily bank deposits
- Coordinate transportation logistics
- Serve as primary contact for VPIRG’s canvass related vendors
- Facilitate distribution of weekly pay
- Contribute to the efforts of a finance & data team, supporting with administrative tasks as necessary
Qualifications: Ability to learn new systems quickly; flexibility and grace under pressure; obsessive attention to detail and awareness of financial best practices; proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks a plus. The ideal candidate is flexible and detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Commitment to the issues on which VPIRG works is essential in this fun but demanding work environment.
Must be able to start part-time in April and commit full-time May through August 16.
