VPIRG is hiring for the 2021 Summer Canvass!

Ever wish you could get paid to have a meaningful impact on local and state politics? To hopefully (*more on that later*) travel Vermont, bike around some of the most scenic parts of the state, and make a positive impact on the most important public interest issues of our time? If you answered yes, we have the job for you!

VPIRG is looking for passionate individuals to work starting on May 24th as a part of our summer outreach campaign. While we closely monitor the pandemic, we are optimistic to run a hybrid canvass. We will be starting out with phone banking in May, and are hopeful that we may be able to go door-to-door by as early as mid-July. The health and safety of our staff and fellow Vermonters is our number one priority. Given the ever-changing dynamics of the pandemic, the setting of our work may change, but the work will remain the same.

Employees will work Monday-Friday connecting with Vermonters throughout the state, fundraising, and engaging folks in our work here in Vermont. Canvassing for VPIRG increases your knowledge of environmental and political issues in Vermont while giving you hands-on experience in practical communication, fundraising, organizing and advocacy skills.

Canvassers will be paid at least $13/hr plus incentives, meet incredible people, and be a part of an unforgettable movement along the way.

You’ll get to work with dozens of awesome canvassers and leaders including 2021 Canvass Directing team: Liam, Marcie, Sam, and Sebbi.

Apply today to become part of a fun and fast paced work environment that promotes a great cause and provides concrete skills and experience for careers in non-profit, environmental and advocacy fields.
