HIRING FOR JULY 5th!

Ever wish you could get paid to have a meaningful impact on local and state politics? To travel Vermont, bike around some of the most scenic parts of the state, and make a positive impact on the environment by fighting for Vermont’s most important recycling program – the Bottle Bill? If you answered yes, we have the job for you!

VPIRG is looking for passionate individuals to work as a part of our summer outreach campaign. We started remotely, and will be transitioning to canvassing door-to-door out of Burlington, Vermont starting in mid-late June, with all fully vaccinated staff who want to return to in person transitioning to door-knocking by July 5th. The health and safety of our staff and fellow Vermonters is our number one priority. Given the latest COVID guidance we are confident in our ability to conduct a safe, effective canvassing operation later this summer.

Canvassers will spend afternoons from around 1-10pm Monday-Thursday connecting with Vermonters throughout the state at their doors. You will be responsible for fundraising and getting folks involved in the grassroots campaign to update the Bottle Bill in Vermont. Canvassing for VPIRG increases your knowledge of environmental and political issues while giving you hands-on experience in practical communication, fundraising, organizing and advocacy skills.

Canvassers will be paid at least $13/hr plus incentives, meet and work with incredible people, and be a part of an unforgettable movement along the way.

Apply today to become part of a fun and fast paced work environment that promotes a great cause and provides concrete skills and experience for careers in non-profit, environmental and advocacy fields.
