Even though fracking is illegal in Vermont, Vermont Gas wants to build a pipeline carrying fracked gas from Alberta, Canada, through Vermont’s Addison County–and underneath Lake Champlain.

Vermont Gas has submitted an application for a Certificate of Public Good (CPG)—which it needs to begin constructing the fracked gas pipeline–with the Vermont Public Service Board (PSB).

The good news is that Vermont citizens can still stop the fracked gas pipeline. VPIRG is participating in the legal proceedings at the PSB, and working with local activists to mobilize a high-profile information campaign so the three member board knows just how opposed the public is to a brand new fracked gas pipeline.
