GMO activists plan path to success

Thank you to everyone who was able to join the Right to Know GMOs Coalition at the 2013 Vermont Environmental Summit! Citizen activists from across the state came together to collaborate with grassroots leaders and share ways for making GMO labeling in Vermont a reality.

Keynote speaker, Gary Hirshberg, Chairman of Stonyfield Farms and leader of the national Just Label It Campaign, led a conversation about the false promises of the GMO industry and the urgent need for labeling. Check out Gary’s Presentation, courtesy of our friend Bob the Green Guy.

Over two dozen activists joined the Right to Know Coalition leaders Falko Schilling, Andrea Stander, and Dave Rogers in a strategy session charting our next steps to victory. After what we saw industry opponents spend to get their way in Washington, mobilizing our grassroots strength here in Vermont is key to our success.

We hope you’ll join us in Montpelier for a massive lobby day to make clear to our legislators that now’s the time to side with concerned Vermonters, not the multi-billion dollar out-of-state corporations who pay to defeat GMO labeling legislation. Join the RTK Coalition Thursday January 16, 2014 for Citizens Lobby Day.

In the GMO labeling movement, all eyes are turning toward Vermont. With enough people voicing their right to know we can succeed where other states have failed, and see a strong GMO labeling bill pass through the state Senate this January.
