Health risks, global warming, radioactive waste, degraded air quality, water pollution, and an unstable economic future are all consequences our reliance on nuclear power and fossil fuels. This reliance costs Vermonters and our local economy nearly $2 billion dollars every year.
Vermont can become 100% reliant on local renewable resources for all of our energy needs by 2030. Our energy use can be divided into three main sectors: electricity, transportation, and our buildings. To help create our clean energy future VPIRG is working in all three areas. Repowering Vermont and replacing Vermont Yankee will put us on the right track.
