In Solidarity with Standing Rock

Please join us on Monday, October 10, 2016 for a rally in solidarity with Standing Rock’s struggle against the Dakota Access Pipeline, and then march to the Vermont Gubernatorial debate to push for a “Clean and Green New Deal” for Vermont.

We understand the imperative to prevent the development of new fossil fuel infrastructure. It is time to reject these pipelines and put an end to the frack and drill boom that is threatening our communities and our planet.

On what is now commonly known as Indigenous People’s Day (formerly Columbus Day), VPIRG proudly joins the ranks of those standing in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and all those who could be harmed by the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Instead, we must embrace energy conservation and efficiency and turn our attention to building clean, local renewable energy resources like wind and solar.

The Details:

When: Monday, Oct. 10th 5pm-8pm

Where: University of Vermont Davis Center

Gather outside the UVM Davis Center for march to the gubernatorial debate being held at the Doubletree Hotel in S. Burlington.
